A rare opportunity has become available for an ambitious Butchery Manager to lead our Butchery and Fish team based at Chatsworth Farm Shop, near Bakewell. Here at Chatsworth Farm Shop, our teams proudly produce hundreds of products each week, and as the Butchery Manager, you will lead a team of over 15 skilled butchers, fishmongers, apprentices and customer service assistants to offer a high-quality range of meat and fish to our customers. This is a senior role within our business responsible for over £2m of turnover annually, so you’ll be a visible leader, coaching and motivating your team, delivering great service to our customers and solving problems as they arise. Leadership experience in a fast-paced retail environment is required, ideally in an independent butchery or farm shop context. Preferably, you’ll be well versed in full carcass butchery but with over 200 years of butchery experience amongst our skilled team, a strong retail leader who excels in driving standards and getting the best from a team will be just as effective. In line with our goal to offer exceptional customer service, you’ll also lead from the front with enthusiasm, you’ll be a lover of food and drink, and you’ll be comfortable working with other department heads to lead change. The successful candidate will have decision-making ability in all areas, from rotas and staffing right through to dictating the product range and selecting the supplier base. This is a permanent role, and the hours of work will be 40 hours per week, 5 days per week typically between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm.
