Overview
We are currently seeking an Assistant Design Manager to join a leading main contractor on a large-scale development in Wembley. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a dynamic design team, supporting the delivery of complex residential/mixed-use schemes.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the coordination and management of the design process from pre-construction through to project completion
* Support the Design Manager in managing consultants, architects, and subcontractor design packages
* Review and track design drawings, specifications, and technical submissions
* Ensure design information is issued in line with programme requirements
* Attend and contribute to design team meetings
* Assist with RFI management and design queries
* Monitor compliance with building regulations, planning conditions, and client requirements
* Support the integration of buildability, cost, and programme considerations into the design process
Requirements
* Previous experience in a design coordination or assistant design role within construction
* Background working on residential or mixed-use developments preferred
* Understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and technical detailing
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively within a project team
Qualifications
* Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering (or similar)
* Working towards or interested in professional membership (e.g. CIOB/RIBA/ICE)
