Role Overview
This role requires an inspirational leader with proven flair and commercial ability, as well as the skill, energy and determination to drive and develop the business. We’re looking for a manager with the experience of developing the standards and reputation of this new gym whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.
Responsibilities
* Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
* Adhere to and maintain the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
* Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks and report and chase all defects to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.
* Recruit, manage, and support a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operationally covered and daily expectations are delivered.
* Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.
* Drive and maximise secondary spending revenue and achieve all sales and membership targets set.
* Ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness, including supervising cleaners to ensure they meet highest standards.
* Manage the weekly banking process to minimise wastage and variance and maximise profit.
* Ensure uniform standards are adhered to by all team members.
* Always deliver outstanding member service and be an ambassador of JD Gyms.
* Create an environment where the team enjoys themselves while at work.
Skills and Experience
* Proven and successful track record of management experience within a leisure related industry.
* Passionate about customer service and an inspirational leader in management style.
* Track record in driving sales and coordinating local marketing activity.
* Recruiting and managing a successful team.
* Experience as a General Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility or substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or similar operational function.
