28 hours per week, 8 am - 4 pm
Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday
Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
The Housekeeper ensures that the care home environment is clean, safe, and comfortable for residents, staff, and visitors. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of hygiene, infection control, and overall presentation throughout the home.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all areas of the home, including bedrooms, bathrooms, communal spaces, corridors, and staff areas.
2. Carry out daily, weekly, and deep‑cleaning routines following the home’s cleaning schedules and infection‑control procedures.
3. Clean and prepare residents’ rooms - making beds, changing linen, emptying bins, dusting, vacuuming, and ensuring personal items are neatly arranged.
4. Support laundry operations - washing, drying, ironing, and returning clothing and linen to the correct residents or departments.
5. Follow infection‑prevention and control guidelines, including safe handling of waste, use of PPE, and correct cleaning products.

6. Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment
7. Understanding of infection control and hygiene standards
8. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
9. Respectful, discreet, and sensitive to residents’ needs
10. Good communication and teamwork skills
11. Reliability and a positive, proactive attitude
