Senior Compliance Officer – Specialty Insurance Carrier

Role Purpose:
1. Searching for a seasoned professional to join its team as a Senior Compliance Officer.
2. This pivotal role involves working across departments to identify, assess, and monitor regulatory risks, providing crucial advice and guidance to ensure compliance across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
3. Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures to elevate business standards.
4. Conduct detailed information gathering, process mapping, and analysis to identify and assess compliance risks, collaborating extensively with various departments.
5. Own and enhance the Product Governance Framework.
6. Play a dynamic role in identifying, assessing, and monitoring regulatory risks, reporting on the effectiveness of internal systems and controls to senior management.
7. Provide regulatory advice that balances commercial awareness with positive customer and regulatory outcomes.
8. Design, implement, and deliver effective compliance training programmes.
9. - Lead and support compliance-related initiatives and projects, including research, regulatory applications, and returns.
10. Investigate and resolve compliance issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
11. Interpret data, analyse key performance indicators, and generate regular reports for management.
12. Ensure Consumer Duty Obligations are met through the delivery of ‘good outcomes’.
13. Identify and mitigate Conduct Risk.
14. Participate in company-wide initiatives where compliance expertise is required.
Experience and Knowledge:
15. In-depth understanding of the UK financial services regulatory landscape, including PRA and FCA regulations.
16. Solid knowledge of the general insurance sector, including its products, services, and market dynamics.
17. Approximately 5-10 years of proven experience in compliance roles within the general insurance industry.
18. Strong background in identifying, assessing, and mitigating regulatory risks in insurance firms.
19. Expertise in financial crime prevention and compliance.
