Band 3 Clinical Support Worker - Endoscopy CIC - up to 37.5 hours
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic clinical support worker to join our friendly team at CIC Endoscopy Unit. The Endoscopy Service is predicted to continue to increase in demand and there is a plan to expand the unit with additional rooms, improved patient care and updated facilities. The department offers all types of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures for both inpatients and outpatients.
You will need to be driven and prepared to deliver high quality care and attention to detail. In this role there is an excellent opportunity to look forward to a full development of your career and support from an excellent and friendly endoscopy team.
This is a great opportunity to assist the Registered Nurses in the Unit in all aspects of endoscopy work including preparation of the environment and patients for their procedures.
Previous experience in endoscopy would be a strong advantage but relevant clinical support experience will be considered.
Training is provided in house and there is an excellent supportive working environment to meet your training and development needs with a named mentor. We have a dedicated clinical educator on the unit.
Main Duties
* Clinical Skills: Ability to perform basic clinical duties, including vital signs monitoring, and assist with procedure‑specific tasks. Cannulation and venepuncture.
* Technical Knowledge: Understanding of endoscopy equipment and the proper decontamination procedures.
* Patient Advocacy: Acting as a patient advocate, ensuring their comfort and dignity throughout the process.
* Teamwork & Communication: Strong communication skills to work effectively with the nursing team and clinicians.
* Adherence to Policies: Strict adherence to Trust policies, including patient safety, infection control, and confidentiality.

Salary: £24,937 to £26,598 a year pro‑rata
Contract: Permanent

Essential Information
* Ability to travel between sites and attend meetings or training off‑site.
* Adhere to Trust values and professional behaviours.
* Level Three vocational qualification or equivalent, numeracy and literacy level two.
* Knowledge of data protection legislation and health and safety at work legislation.
* National Care Certificate or commitment to complete within 12 weeks.
* Willingness to undertake job‑related training and multi‑disciplinary competencies.
* Willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
* Currently working in a healthcare setting.
Desirable
* Undertaken relevant additional training for Clinical Support Workers.
* Computer skills.
* Familiarity with current NHS and social care policies.
* Experience working in the Trust previously.
* Key skills such as keyboard skills and venepuncture.
