Field Engineer Position
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Field Engineer to join our team in the South West of England. As a key member of our Technical Communities, you will play a vital role in supporting the UK Government's Net Zero 2050 strategy.

This permanent opportunity is part of our mega-infrastructure Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC). You will contribute significantly to this endeavor by ensuring works are constructed according to contract requirements and identifying potential Quality issues before they arise.
Responsibilities:
* Notify the Construction Superintendent of any non-conformance request requirements.
* Submit details of non-conformance requests to facilitate the issuing of reports.
* Maintain good communication links with site teams and ensure timely surveillance reporting.
* Contribute to KPI indicators through surveillance information.
* Proactively identify potential Quality issues to enable mitigating actions.
* Support instructions to take temporary measures to maintain Quality standards and prevent work halts.
* Enhance team knowledge with insights into current and future site activities.
* Ensure tasks meet quality requirements for health, safety, and environment as per company standards.
* Develop and maintain an understanding of construction drawings, activities, Quality Control Plans, and Inspection Records.
* Monitor and ensure Quality Inspection Records are taken and agreed before works are covered up.
* Review Contractor performance against authorized Quality Control Plans.
Requirements:
* Familiarity with mechanical engineering principles and practices.
* Proficiency in welding processes, metallurgy, and NDT techniques.
* Awareness of industry standards and codes related to welding and mechanical activities.
* Experience in weld inspection on large construction projects.
* Knowledge of pipework, tanks/vessels, steel structures, and heat exchangers.
* Familiarity with ITPs, NCRs, and ISO 9001 standards.
* A minimum of HND in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent vocational training and experience.
* A welding inspector qualification (e.g., CSWIP 3.1 or PCN Level 2) along with basic appreciation of NDT.
* Good working knowledge of Quality Management practices, methods, and processes.
