Overview
The Head Housekeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and overall presentation of the hotel. This position requires a dedicated individual with a strong background in hospitality and janitorial services. The Head Housekeeper will lead a team of housekeeping staff, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and ensure that all guests enjoy a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring all areas are cleaned to the highest standards.
* Train, supervise, and motivate housekeeping staff to deliver exceptional service.
* Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
* Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.
* Develop and implement cleaning schedules to optimise efficiency and effectiveness within the team.
* Address guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring satisfaction.
* Collaborate with other departments to coordinate special requests or events requiring additional housekeeping support.
Skills
* Proven experience in a hotel environment is essential, showcasing a strong understanding of hospitality standards.
* Previous janitorial experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with cleaning procedures and equipment.
