Position Summary
As a Warehouse Manager, you will lead the daily operations of our client’s warehouse, ensuring smooth and efficient processes. You will manage a team of Warehouse Operatives and be involved in every aspect of the warehouse operations, from receiving shipments to picking and packing orders. This role requires a hands-on approach, with 80% of your time spent on the warehouse floor and 20% handling office-based tasks. You will play a critical role in driving efficiency, managing inventory, and contributing to the overall growth of the company. As a given, safety is also a massive responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a team of Warehouse Operatives to meet daily operational targets.
2. Oversee the receiving, picking, packing and shipping processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
3. Implement strategies to optimise warehouse workflow and improve productivity.
4. Ensure the warehouse adheres to all Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
5. Manage stock control, ensuring accurate inventory levels and timely restocking.
6. Resolve any operational issues that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to workflows.
7. Train, develop and upskill team members to maintain a high level of performance.
8. Collaborate closely with the Head of Operations to align warehouse goals with company objectives.
9. You must be prepared to get involved with the lifting and packing of stock and also forklift use.
Qualifications and Skills:
10. Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management, with a proven record of success.
11. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
12. Excellent organisation skills and with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
13. Proficiency in warehouse management systems and software.
14. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
15. A valid forklift operator licence (Bendi and Counterbalance) is preferred but not required.
Timings: Monday to Friday, 7 am to 5 pm (10 hr shifts; 45 hrs a week).
