Overview
Applications will be considered for internal candidates interested in a secondment opportunity. The Medical Sciences Division Translational Research Office (TRO) provides oversight and delivery of divisional support for translational research projects. The TRO's mission is to identify new translational projects addressing unmet medical need, to drive the development of project plans and to secure additional follow-on project funding. The TRO is recruiting a Translational Research Manager to encourage and maintain a pipeline of biomedical translation opportunities. Candidates will be confident self-starters with a broad understanding of the research, translation and innovation processes in the biomedical and healthcare sectors. With experience in research project management, the post-holder will work under the leadership of the Head of the Translational Research Office to identify and advise on suitable funding sources, support bid development and provide project management to these milestone-driven projects. They will support the delivery of existing translational research programmes such as the Oxford Medical and Life Sciences Translational Fund, as well as the launch of new programmes. In this diverse and interesting role, you will be liaising with a broad range of stakeholders including the Oxford research community, Oxford University Innovations, public funding bodies, industry partners, the Biomedical Research Centre and other relevant groups.
Responsibilities
* Identify and advise on suitable funding sources for translational research projects.
* Support bid development and provide project management to milestone-driven projects.
* Support the delivery of existing translational research programmes and contribute to the launch of new programmes.
* Liaise with a broad range of stakeholders including the Oxford research community, Oxford University Innovations, public funding bodies, industry partners, the Biomedical Research Centre and other relevant groups.
