Our prestigious manufacturing client within the Marine and Luxury Yacht industry is currently seeking a Commissioning Marine Electrician to join their team.
The Commissioning Marine Electrician will support the Commissioning Team through all aspects of the commissioning process.
This is a full-time permanent position based in Ipswich, Suffolk.
Travel, including overnight stays and overseas trips, is required, approximately one trip every 1 to 2 months.
A full driving license valid in the UK is required.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
* In-depth knowledge of marine electrics.
* Audio Visual and Navigation systems.
* Extensive practical experience with AC/DC systems.
* Knowledge of different voltages (international variances).
* Networking and system interfacing skills (desirable).
* Organizing and planning skills.
* Proven experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings.
* Previous experience in the marine industry working with timber/GRP yachts.
* French polishing experience (desirable).
* Experience with cZone and Mastervolt installations (desirable).
* High standard of work finish.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
* Comfortable working autonomously.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Assist commissioning skippers in identifying electrical issues in new yachts, providing solutions, and ensuring issues are rectified.
* Rectify electrical defects prior to yacht handover.
* Ensure all work meets quality standards and follows best practices.
* Support the commissioning team with duties such as boat cleaning, site maintenance, trial sails, and yacht deliveries.
* Coordinate with production and design teams for continuous improvement.
* Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Engage in self-development and expand knowledge in the area of expertise.
* Support production and other departments within the area of expertise.
