Job Summary: The Assistant Manager will assist the Manager in discharging the full range of managerial responsibilities for the service. This will involve taking the lead on specific tasks delegated by the Manager and assisting with other functions. The Registered Manager retains ultimate responsibility for the service. The Assistant Manager will lead the service in the absence of the Manager and be available to cover other temporary managerial vacancies as required. Key Accountabilities: Ensure that all work within the service is participant-focused and upholds the principles of respect, privacy, dignity, fulfilment, independence, and choice. Participate in the selection, appointment, and induction of staff to ensure a capable team that meets the needs of the project. Provide effective leadership, supervision, and management of staff. Manage workloads and identify and address staff development needs. Develop good relationships and networks that are important to supported individuals and keep them informed about the nature and progress of the project as appropriate. Facilitate and promote positive relationships in the immediate vicinity of the project. Plan, prioritise, monitor, and evaluate the work carried out in the service. Ensure that adequate records are maintained and necessary reports, including untoward/critical incidents, are produced. Be aware of and act in accordance with Praxis Cares Health and Safety Policy. About The Role Requirements of the Role: Participate in the company performance management process. Adhere to and model the company values, behaviours, and competencies at all times. Carry out all duties of the post in accordance with Praxis rules, regulations, and policies. Carry out additional duties of the role and other required duties as necessary. Where the role requires sleep-ins, a minimum additional payment of £45.00 per night applies The above-mentioned duties are not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to carry out other duties as necessary. It should be noted that stated duties or locations associated with the post may change to meet the future needs of the organisation. An AccessNI Enhanced Disclosure Check will be required for this position. A criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position. Essential and Desirable Criteria: Education, Experience & Training Qualifications Essential: 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in a health and social care setting. Qualification in: Social Work 1st Level Nursing Allied Health Profession Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services in a relevant pathway. Must be registered with the appropriate body within the first six months of employment. Desirable: Previous management experience within supported living and collaboration with Housing Associations. Experience in contracts management. Skills & Competencies Full valid driving licence and access to own vehicle (If a disability precludes an individual from holding a drivers licence, it should be stated how they can meet the mobility requirement of the post). Good interpersonal skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to use initiative. Excellent organisational skills. Attributes Available to work flexibly. Calm and level-headed. Patient and tolerant. Approachable and understanding. Respectful. Required Criteria 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in a health and social care setting. Full valid driving licence and access to own vehicle Qualification in one of the following: Social Work - 1st Level Nursing - Allied Health Profession - Level 5 in Leadership for H&SC Services in a relevant pathway. Right to work in the UK Desired Criteria Previous management experience within supported living and collaboration with Housing Associations. Experience in contracts management.
