A day in the life of…
As the Meetings & Events Supervisor, your role is crucial in driving revenue and ensuring the success of meetings and events at the hotel.
Here's a breakdown of key responsibilities and strategies to excel in your position:
Revenue Maximisation:
Proactive Selling:
*
o Actively seek out new business opportunities and clients for meetings, weddings, events, conferences, etc.
o Utilise a proactive sales approach to attract and secure bookings.
Commercial Management:
*
o Analyse market trends and competitor activities to adjust pricing and packages accordingly.
o Implement effective commercial strategies to maximise revenue from Meetings and Events.
Team Supervision:
Day-to-Day Performance:
*
o Supervise the daily activities of the Meetings and Events commercial team.
o Provide guidance, support, and training to ensure team members meet performance targets.
Enquiry Management:
*
o Oversee the handling of all enquiries, ensuring prompt and professional responses.
o Implement efficient processes to manage enquiries for various @types of events.
Collaboration and Communication:
Relationship Building:
*
o Develop a close working relationship with the Revenue Manager and Director of Sales.
o Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless execution of events.
Conversion Management:
*
o Work closely with the Revenue Manager to convert customer enquiries into confirmed sales.
o Implement strategies to enhance conversion rates and customer satisfaction.
Business Development:
Repeat Business:
*
o Develop strategies to encourage repeat business from satisfied customers.
o Maintain relationships with clients to encourage future bookings.
Profitability Focus:
*
o Identify opportunities to enhance profitability through upselling and cross-selling.
o Monitor and control costs to ensure optimal profitability.
Customer Service:
Brand Standards:
*
o Uphold and promote the brand standards for outstanding customer service in Meetings and Events.
o Ensure the team is trained to deliver exceptional experiences for clients.
Communication Channels:
*
o Maintain clear and effective communication channels with the operational team and other hotel departments.
o Address and resolve any issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
By executing these strategies and maintaining a focus on revenue, team performance, and customer satisfaction, you'll contribute significantly to the success of Meetings and Events at the hotel. Regularly review and adjust your approach based on market dynamics and feedback to continuously improve performance.
This role is full time, 39 hours per week, 5 days out of 7.

Flexibility:

o Flexibility regarding working hours is crucial, as this role involves a 24/7 business operation.
o Willingness to attend events on weekends and evenings as required by the nature of the business.
