Essential Requirements
YOU MUST DEMONSTRATE THAT YOU MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS
• Qualified Solicitor or barrister with current practising certificate or equivalent qualification with ability to practice.
• Experience and knowledge of Employment law or the ability to acquire them quickly
• Experience of litigation
• Practical knowledge of public law
• Effective advocate
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Good drafting skills
• Ability to work as an effective part of a professional team to deliver complex issues
• Competent IT user
• Commitment to continuous service improvement
• Ability to work under pressure to tight timescales and to motivate others to deliver

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS BUT IF YOU DO, PLEASE TELL US
• Post admission experience of practising Employment law at the grade and level of responsibility of the post.
• Knowledge and experience of local government.
• Awareness of and sensitivity to the political aspirations of members
• Be willing to undertake further training
• Full valid driving licence
