We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader to guide our manufacturing engineering team. Details below!
Role Summary
This role leads a section within the Manufacturing Engineering Team, responsible for process improvements, resolving technical issues, supporting new product launches, and maintaining safety and quality standards.
Success requires strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
The Team Leader supports our operational strategy, promotes safety, enhances product quality, ensures timely delivery, and helps achieve cost targets.
The position is based at Cheltenham, working closely with production and support functions.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage resources efficiently to meet delivery, quality, and safety standards.
* Coach and mentor engineers in best practices and problem-solving.
* Own problem resolution, analyzing variables to find root causes and implement solutions quickly.
* Use data to identify improvements and drive actions to meet key metrics.
* Collaborate with production, maintenance, safety, supply chain, and development teams on problem-solving and projects.
* Support introduction of new products, processes, automation, and equipment, ensuring safety and quality.
* Maintain process controls and documentation per ISO9001 standards.
* Identify hazards via risk assessments and implement measures to eliminate risks, aiming for zero injuries.
* Continuously improve assembly and testing processes, including automation.
* Enhance productivity in manufacturing cells.
* Analyze conditions affecting performance, identify root causes, and lead corrective actions.
* Apply lean manufacturing, P FMEA, Six Sigma, and other tools.
* Ensure adherence to best practices, procedures, and documentation.
* Conduct time studies, standard work, takt time, and line balancing.
* Assess and propose capital expenditure needs.
* Ensure manufacturing complies with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Skills & Requirements
* Degree or equivalent in engineering or relevant experience with an apprenticeship.
* Experience in continuous improvement within manufacturing.
* Experience with automated assembly equipment and OEE is beneficial.
* Qualification in Six Sigma, project management, or lean tools is advantageous.
