DCL Migration & SIT Test Analyst
Duration: 4-6 weeks +
Location: Hybrid in Towcester / Northampton
Pay: £60-£65 per hour
We are seeking an experienced DCL Migration & SIT Test Analyst to support a critical MES upgrade programme. This role will focus on the transfer, rewrite, and validation of DCL commands into a Red Hat (Sector 7) environment, alongside hands‑on involvement in System Integration Testing (SIT).
This is a delivery‑focused role requiring strong scripting, testing, and troubleshooting capability within a complex transformation environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the migration, rewrite, and validation of DCL commands for deployment into a Red Hat (Sector 7) environment
* Review existing DCL scripts, assess compatibility, and update or rewrite as required
* Actively participate in System Integration Testing (SIT) for the MES Upgrade Project
* Execute functional testing of migrated scripts, ensuring accuracy and compatibility
* Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects, issues, and gaps uncovered during SIT
* Support regression testing following fixes and changes
* Collaborate closely with stakeholders and technical teams
* Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and dependencies
* Maintain clear test evidence and supporting documentation
* Ensure adherence to client processes, standards, and governance
* Attend project meetings, reviews, and reporting sessions
Key Deliverables
* Rewritten and validated DCL scripts compatible with Red Hat (Sector 7)
* Completed SIT test cases with documented execution results
* Defect logs with full lifecycle tracking and closure evidence
* Validation reports confirming successful migration outcomes
* Weekly status reports covering delivery progress, risks, and dependencies
* Final handover pack including scripts, documentation, and test evidence
Key Skills & Experience
* Strong experience with DCL scripting and legacy system migration
* Proven experience working within Red Hat / Linux environments
* Hands‑on experience with System Integration Testing (SIT)
* Strong defect management and troubleshooting capabilityExperience working on MES or manufacturing systems (desirable)
* Ability to work in structured delivery environments with clear governance
* Strong stakeholder communication and reporting skills
