Role Overview The Lead BI Developer acts as the technical lead and scrum master supporting the retail and healthcare businesses of Superdrug and Savers. You will manage the workload of two pods of the Data & BI Team, oversee and build core reporting and data solutions, and enable retail and healthcare operations teams to optimise operations and service customers more effectively.
Responsibilities
* Interact with team members and stakeholders to scope work.
* Understand key focus of business areas to provide relevant solutions.
* Innovate the use of data and reporting solutions to drive insight and action.
* Mentor junior members of the BI team.
* Manage and plan the workload of two pods within the team.
* Review and approve production‑ready output from the team.
What You’ll Need
* Extensive experience (5+ years as an individual contributor) developing data and reporting solutions (Power BI with PL300 preferred).
* Considerable experience (3-5 years as part of a data organisation) using data tools and platforms in both warehouse and lake house/medallion architectures.
* Expert understanding of key data architecture principles and governance principles. Beneficial if you have experience using tools such as Fabric and Databricks in both centralised and hybrid governance models.
* Experience leading the creation of data assets that service reporting and analytics tools, providing quantifiable value.
* Significant experience interacting with business stakeholders to understand business requirements.
* Understanding of core principles of agile, sprints and scrum delivery ways of working. Experience leading scrum teams while upholding the highest standards.
* Leadership experience guiding junior team members to improve performance.
