Key Details Job Type: Teaching Assistant Start Date: ASAP Age range: KS3 – KS5 Contract: Agency supply with potential for permanent appointment Location: Birmingham School Type: SEN Salary: £410 - £425 per week About the role: Work 1:1 or in small groups to provide academic support across subjects (particularly English and Maths), adapting tasks to suit individual learning styles and needs. Build positive relationships with students with autism and/or Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs, using coaching-style communication and a calm, consistent approach. Help integrate physical activity and movement breaks into the school day to support emotional regulation, focus and behaviour management. Act as a role model and mentor, encouraging positive attitudes, resilience, and healthy lifestyles, while also tracking and supporting students' academic progress. The School: The school, part of the Think Differently Education Trust, provides specialist education for pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions. Confident in using initiative and taking a proactive approach to challenges. Able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check. Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are a suitable qualification for working with children and experience working with special education needs.
