Civil Engineer Hertfordshire | Hybrid working (3 days office, 2 days remote) £35,000 to £45,000 depending on experience Permanent | Full-time We are working with a growing civil and structural engineering consultancy in Hertfordshire that is looking to appoint a Civil Engineer as part of its continued expansion. This role would suit an engineer with around 3 to 6 years' design consultancy experience who is looking to build technical capability, gain exposure to varied projects, and progress toward chartership with full ICE support. The Role You will support the delivery of civil engineering design packages across a range of residential, commercial, infrastructure, and mixed-use developments. This is a hands-on design role with involvement across the full project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Produce civil engineering designs across highways, drainage, and infrastructure Prepare drawings, calculations, and technical reports Support Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies Work with software including Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and Vehicle Tracking Contribute to BIM workflows and coordinated design outputs Collaborate with internal and external project teams Provide practical solutions to design and site-related challenges Support projects from early concept through to delivery Occasional UK or European travel where requiredAbout You: Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline Typically 3 to 6 years' experience within a civil engineering consultancy Working towards IEng or CEng, with ICE support provided Experience in highways and or drainage design Competent with Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, and AutoCAD Good understanding of UK design standards and engineering principles Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team Experience with Eurocodes, RIBA stages, or due diligence is beneficialWhat's on Offer Salary of £35,000 to £45,000 Hybrid working model: 3 days office-based, 2 days remote Structured training and ongoing CPD ICE membership and annual professional fees covered Private medical insurance, including family cover Life assurance and Bupa cash plan 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and an additional birthday day off Employer pension contribution of 7.5 percent Supportive, friendly team environment with clear progression routes
