Head of Farming
We are seeking a dynamic leader to guide our Farming team through a period of significant change, including shifts in agricultural policy following its return to Westminster. The Head of Farming will be responsible for developing and executing the company's Farming business strategy in the short, medium, and long term.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Head of Rural to implement effective business plans and vision.
* Ensure the delivery of the agreed strategy and promote high performance across the Farming department.
* Drive business development efforts by cultivating existing clients and establishing new ones.
* Manage own client relationships effectively.
* Work with the Head of Rural to foster a culture of process improvement through training, communication, and system development.
* Achieve departmental budgets and reforecast as needed.
* Communicate financial information clearly within the team.
* Provide visionary and inspirational leadership.
* Communicate and promote the company's vision within the rural and farming sectors.
* Assist in hiring and developing a high-performance workforce in collaboration with HR.
* Mentor and develop future leaders, identifying top talent.
* Embed a business development ethos throughout the business line.
* Model exemplary organizational behavior.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, highly numerate, adaptable, and flexible. They should be an experienced agriculturalist with credibility and authenticity, capable of articulating the business vision and creating effective plans to enhance performance and deliver measurable results.
Qualifications
* Degree in an agricultural discipline.
* MRICS (preferred but not required).
* CAAV (preferred but not required).
* BASIS and FACTS certifications (desirable but not required).
Experience
* Proven track record in the farming sector with consultancy and client management experience.
* Leadership experience with a history of inspiring teams to improve performance and profitability.
* Strong market profile as a leader and new business developer.
* Experience in delivering presentations, reports, and commentary to various audiences including media, press, webinars, and podcasts.
