Rewind to 12th December 2012. Out of a freezing cold office (because we couldn’t afford heating back then!), our founders huddled round a couple of laptops. This was the moment. After a year of working round the clock and a lifetime of tempering the thirst to create a world class brand, we pressed LAUNCH. That was the moment Protein Works.™ website went live to the world.
It’s not an overly fancy story, we know. There’re no garages worked out of, no office in the Bay Area to talk up. But fancy isn’t in our DNA, innovation is. With the idea to rock the very foundations of a sports nutrition industry that had become stagnant, we set out to create a health and fitness brand that put pure quality & wow service before the lowest possible price. We knew we’d be the underdogs from the very beginning. But you know what? We love that.
The Role: Head of Commercial
Sitting at the heart of our marketing team, the Product Marketing team are responsible for the commercial performance of our entire product range, achieving these by developing product marketing plans, campaigns and continually looking to optimise performance across Online and Amazon sales channels. Reporting into the Product Marketing Director, the Head of Commercial role drives and accelerates our commercial performance to achieve outstanding performance in all commercial metrics across our DTC and Amazon channels.
Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities
* Quarterly and Yearly Sales Forecasting
* Management of Forecast to achieve MAPE targets
* Leading communication with wider business around commercial objectives
* Create and optimise product pricing strategies and trends vs ours to product actionable insights and opportunities
* Work alongside the Supply Chain team to mitigate the impact of future ingredient cost changes.
* Driving product Mix to Strategy though Pricing & Performance Marketing Insights
* Drive sales vs. Forecast through reporting insights and assisting actions
* Analysis of slow movers, high risers and opportunities for line extension
* And much much more!
Key Experience/ Skill Sets
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Willingness to support team members, identifying skillset challenges and executing a development plan to improve these.
* Proficient Excel skills and able to manipulate data easily and present it clearly
* Self-motivated and organised with ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously
