This is a full-time, permanent role in a beautiful countryside setting, ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and care within a private home. While core working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, there is an expectation of longer hours when the Principals are in residence. The family is respectful and appreciative, and they value reliability, professionalism, and a quiet, efficient presence in the home. Cooking skills would be a lovely bonus, but they’re by no means essential — the focus is very much on housekeeping. Role Responsibilities You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day cleanliness and care of the main residence and occasionally the Principal’s London property. Daily tasks include full housekeeping duties: dusting, vacuuming, polishing, laundry, and care of fine furnishings, antiques, silver, and artwork. You’ll also manage linen changes, ensure staff areas are clean, liaise with contractors, and report maintenance issues to the House Manager. You’ll support occasional entertaining by assisting with table service and may be asked to run local errands or help oversee the house when other staff are away, so driving and having your own vehicle is a must. A key part of the role is working as part of a small, loyal team and maintaining a secure and well-functioning home.
