Overview
One of our clients are seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality grounds services at a large site in Broughton.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a large-scale, high-profile estate, managing a team of circa 20 staff and ensuring exceptional standards across all external areas, including landscaped grounds and sports surfaces.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead, manage and develop a team of approximately 20 grounds maintenance operatives
2. Plan and coordinate daily and seasonal maintenance schedules
3. Oversee all planned and reactive grounds maintenance activities
4. Manage turf care, fertilisation programmes and general horticultural practices
5. Take responsibility for seasonal services, including winter gritting and adverse weather response
6. Ensure all grounds machinery and equipment is used safely and maintained appropriately
7. Manage external contractors and suppliers for servicing, materials and support
8. Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety standards, including RAMS and COSHH
9. Maintain high standards of site presentation across all external areas
10. Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and internal teams
About You
11. Proven experience in a Grounds Maintenance Manager / Grounds Manager / Senior Supervisor role
12. Experience managing larger teams (ideally 10+ staff)
13. Strong knowledge of grounds maintenance, horticulture and turf management
14. Hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the front
15. Excellent organisational and communication skills
16. Full UK driving licence
17. Experience operating grounds maintenance equipment
Qualifications (Desirable)
18. NVQ Level 2 in Grounds Maintenance, Sports Turf or similar
19. PA1, PA2a, PA6 spraying certificates
20. Experience maintaining sports pitches
21. IOSH Managing Safely
22. Forklift, chainsaw or towing licences
23. First Aid
