Are you passionate about supporting adults with mental health needs to live independently? Do you want to launch a new and exciting scheme, shaping a service from the very beginning and making a real difference from day one? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
We're opening a new mental health scheme (not learning disabilities) in Shrewsbury, this December. As our housing enabler, you'll deliver high-quality housing management, support commissioning activity, and empower customers to thrive in a safe, supportive community.
What you'll do:
* Provide a high-quality housing management service, ensuring the scheme is safe, well-maintained, and welcoming
* Support customers to understand their responsibilities, access benefits, and connect with care, support and welfare services
* Manage voids and lettings, ensuring new customers have everything they need for a successful start
* Be a visible, positive presence in the local community, promoting and encouraging customer engagement
* Work flexibly and independently, including lone working, and collaborate with partner agencies and professionals
* Use your initiative to solve problems, manage disputes, and help customers overcome challenges
* Support commissioning processes and partnership working to ensure the scheme meets local needs.
What you'll bring:
* Solid knowledge and understanding of housing management and commissioning (essential)
* Experience working with adults with mental health needs
* Excellent organisation and IT skills (comfortable with mobile devices and admin systems)
* Experience of working with a range of organisations and professionals including commissioners, care providers and social work teams
* Curiosity and confidence to have honest conversations, even when they're difficult
* The ability to see the best in people and coach them to achieve more
* Tenacity and resilience – doing what it takes to achieve the right outcome
* A track record of being self-motivated, flexible, and able to manage your own workload
* A strong, positive attitude even when the going gets tough.
* A passion for community engagement and empowering others
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for assessments and office visits).
In a nutshell, we're looking for someone who believes in people and their potential to achieve more. You must be approachable and flexible, willing to have honest conversations that move people to action, and have excellent time management skills - able to juggle conflicting priorities and still achieve results.
The role requires an Enhanced and Adult Barred List DBS check.
