Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on IT Manager to lead and manage our IT function. This role will oversee the company's IT infrastructure, systems, and digital platforms, while managing a small but capable team consisting of an IT Assistant and a Web Developer.
The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership skills and will be comfortable providing hands-on support while also developing long-term IT strategies that align with the business. This role is key to ensuring our technology underpins our growth and supports the smooth operation of all areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities
1. IT Operations & Infrastructure
* Oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and development of IT systems, networks, and hardware.
* Ensure business-critical systems are secure, reliable, and scalable.
* Manage software, hardware, and licensing procurement, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
* Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation.
2. Team Leadership & Development
* Manage, mentor, and support the IT Assistant and Web Developer.
* Prioritise workload, set clear goals, and provide ongoing training and development.
* Foster a collaborative, problem-solving culture within the IT team.
3. Cybersecurity & Compliance
* Ensure data protection and system security are maintained to the highest standards.
* Monitor, review, and improve cybersecurity practices, policies, and controls.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR, industry standards, and client contractual obligations.
4. Web & Digital Systems
* Oversee web development and digital platforms, ensuring they meet business and client needs.
* Support the Web Developer in maintaining site functionality, security, and performance.
* Manage integrations between internal systems and external platforms.
5. Business Support & Projects
* Provide hands-on technical support across all departments when required.
* Act as the escalation point for complex IT issues.
* Lead IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
* Partner with senior leadership to align IT strategy with business goals, including supporting future acquisitions and integrations.
6. Vendor & Budget Management
* Manage IT budgets and optimise spend across hardware, software, and services.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers and partners.
* Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements to ensure value for money.
Key Skills & Experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience in IT management or a senior IT role.
* Hands-on technical expertise across networks, hardware, software, and systems.
* Proven ability to lead and develop small IT teams.
* Strong understanding of IT security, data protection, and compliance.
* Experience managing websites, CMS, and digital platforms.
* Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
* Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on delivery.
* Previous experience in a fast-paced, multi-site business is desirable.
