In Investments Technology, our Asset Management Tribe supports the products and processes used by our asset management business. The tribe comprises several squads responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting a critical suite of applications and technologies.


About the Role

Career Level: 3 (Senior)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Support Engineer to join our Asset Management Technology team. The role focuses on supporting and enhancing our investment application systems – critical components of our investment business – including real‑time trading and multi‑slot investment batch applications. Support operates across APAC, EMEA and AMRS.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead support and maintenance of multi‑slot batch and applications across global regions, ensuring stability, performance and availability.
* Drive incident and problem management, leading recovery efforts across time zones and performing root cause analysis, debugging failures, applying fixes and participating in post‑incident reviews.
* Act as a technical escalation point for complex application issues, providing guidance and mentoring to junior support engineers.
* Develop, test and maintain application code, contributing to sprint activities as part of our application lifecycle management.
* Collaborate with service partners to maintain robust service levels.
* Work with infrastructure specialists to implement fixes and enhancements and participate in scheduled Disaster Recovery proving events.
* Support scheduled release and deployment activities, including validation, rollback planning and post‑deployment monitoring.
* Evaluate infrastructure, system and third‑party changes for service impact to supported application services.
* Champion best practices in application monitoring and proactive issue detection.
* Produce and maintain technical documentation to support production services.
* Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement to enhance support efficiency and reduce manual effort.


About the Candidate

* Years of experience in senior application support and maintenance, leading a team of support engineers.
* Proficiency in SQL for data querying, processing and performance tuning.
* Familiarity with Financial Services, preferably trading and ensuring compliance.
* Experience with data warehousing, ELT/ETL processes and data modelling.
* Experience using scheduling tools and supporting applications running on Windows.
* Proactive mindset focused on service and customer impact.
* Consistent performance in time‑sensitive and complex scenarios.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to support team members, share knowledge and foster a collaborative culture.
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
* Independently works within cross‑functional teams using agile development.


Desirable Skills

* Exposure to DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, automation).
* Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric.
* Knowledge of Cloud‑native development: Azure, Snowflake, ADF, DBT for modular SQL development.
* Experience with Autosys scheduling, Ab Initio for ETL and batch processing, and Markit EDM.
* Knowledge of MQ (IBM MQ, ACE) for message‑based integrations.
