We are seeking a patient, enthusiastic, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Cambridge, starting as soon as possible. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs. This may include one-to-one support, small group interventions, or classroom assistance to ensure that all pupils can access learning effectively and develop independence. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and EHCP targets Support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and independence Help pupils access lessons and stay engaged Observe, monitor, and record pupil progress accurately Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and support staff Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals when required Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment Support pupils during transitions, break times, and structured activities Attend staff meetings, training, and CPD sessions Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Have experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting Be patient, empathetic, and resilient Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills Be proactive, flexible, and reliable Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing The school is located in Cambridge, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community.
