Ridgeway Primary Academy (part of Primitas Learning Partnership) is looking to appoint a Caretaker to provide support to our Site Supervisor with the general upkeep of our extremely large primary school. The role requires an understanding of health and Safety regulations, the ability to work independently and a practical approach to the tasks in hand. Health & Safety training will be a compulsory for the successful candidate. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Site Supervisor The role will include: General site tidiness and upkeep, to ensure our school is secure, well maintained and safe for staff and pupils. Routine maintenance tasks, and minor planned and responsive repair works Compliance testing including: water, emergency lighting and alarms Supervising any contractors on site. We are looking for someone who: Is a quick learner and keen to learn new skills Takes pride in their work Maintains a positive working partnerships with colleagues, parents and carers. Has good verbal and written communication skills Is able to use a broad range of fundamental trade skills including: carpentry, joinery, plumbing, plastering, brick and blockwork, external works and associated finishing trades including tiling, painting, and decorating.
