The Trust is looking to recruit a full time Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Community Perinatal Mental Health team.
This post relates to the whole of the county of Suffolk, providing care to a population of approximately 625,000 people. The perinatal service in Suffolk consistently and significantly exceeds the access target that 670 patients should access the service in the previous 12 months.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to have a senior clinical leadership role within the perinatal service alongside the team managers and service lead and to have a lead role in the continued development of the Perinatal Mental Health pathways alongside the Clinical Lead.
The postholder will work alongside the consultants in the Norfolk and Waveney Community Perinatal Mental Health Service and the Kingfisher Mother and Baby Unit to provide specialist perinatal health care and leadership to the PMHTs. They will work collaboratively with other organisations and system partners.
The post holder will work in several settings including Trust facilities, other trust facilities, primary care, children’s centres and patient residencies.

Job description
This is a full‑time (10 session) role with 7.5 clinical sessions including clinics and team meetings and 2.5 SPAs which can be used for a range of activities as well as CPD to be discussed with the Medical Director.
Person specification
* Qualifications
o Entry on the GMC Register.
o Approved Clinician Status.
o Section 12(2) approval under the Mental Health Act.
o Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCST.
* Experience
o 3 years or equivalent medical experience.
o 6 months experience in relevant clinical area.
o Evidence of knowledge of diagnosis, treatment + management of complex mental illness.
