The successful candidate will be a key contributor to East Lothian Works, the council's employability service, and will work across our schools and post-school teams. The Project Officer (Employer Engagement) will build and maintain relationships with local employers to encourage them to collaborate and work with our employability service. The role will focus on identifying and contacting new prospective employers, working with existing employer contacts, and liaising internally with colleagues to maximise success. The key objectives: Grow and retain a range of employer relationships. Generate new leads for employment, training, placements and work taster commitments by contacting prospective employers, developing understanding of their challenges and motivations, establishing mutually acceptable arrangements, and securing employment opportunities. Support employers to understand and develop inclusive recruitment practices. Provide a proactive and professional account management approach. Act as the main point of contact for new and existing employers as well as other key external stakeholders. Supporting performance within our employability service. The individual will be solution focussed, proactive, and have a passion for delivering innovative employability provision. They will have the ability to see and act on opportunities, be organised, be an able communicator and facilitator. The successful candidate will work at pace and manage a variety of competing priorities.
