SEND Teacher - Independent Specialist School (11-16)Salary: £32,700 - £43,000 + £5,000 Welcome Bonus!Location: Scunthorpe Are you passionate about delivering high-quality, inclusive teaching that transforms the lives of young people with complex needs? Our client, is an independent SEMH specialist school for students aged 11-16, many of whom have EHCPs and diagnoses such as ADHD or ASD. The school provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for young people who have struggled in mainstream education or are at risk of exclusion.What You'll Do
* Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils, including those with SEND and trauma histories.
* Use assessment data to monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
* Promote pupils' social, emotional, and academic development through trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
* Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, consistent with the school's behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
* Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective, personalised support.
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
* Experience teaching in Secondary education
* Proven experience working with pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour
* Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and behaviour management in specialist education settings
* Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning
* Resilience, empathy, adaptability, and a passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
* Humanities specialism preferred but not essential
