Career Opportunity
We are seeking a driven and forward-thinkingInterior Fit out Pre-Construction Managerto lead the front-end
strategy, tendering, and technical coordination for high-quality office fit-out projects.
This is a pivotal leadership role that combines expertise with commercial and client insight.
The successful candidate will have the experience and ambition to develop and grow the department with full oversight, process ownership, and strategic input to board level.
Key Responsibilities
Bid Management & Tender Leadership
• Own and lead the full pre-construction process from early enquiry to contract award
• Coordinate estimating, design, and delivery inputs to submit accurate, competitive tenders
• Prepare project programmes, methodology statements, and supporting documents
• Ensure tender submissions are technically deliverable, commercially viable and client focused
Client & Consultant Engagement
• Serve as the lead point of contact during pre-contract phases
• Attend presentations, site visits, and technical reviews with clients and consultants
• Support the Head of Sales with project procurement and relationship development
Design & Technical Coordination
• Oversee technical design reviews to ensure build ability, cost efficiency, and quality
• Manage early-stage input on specifications, compliance, and value engineering
• Work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure accuracy and
alignment
Commercial Collaboration
• Work with the Commercial and Estimating teams to align costs with scope and client
expectations
• Identify risks, assumptions, and exclusions clearly in all proposals
• Support subcontract procurement and pricing strategy
Strategic & Organisational Development
• Proactively shape and refine pre-construction processes and systems
• Define KPIs and reporting frameworks for pre-con performance
• Support recruitment and mentorship of future team members
• Provide input into company growth, pipeline, and business development strategies
Leadership Progression
• Demonstrate consistent delivery, leadership, and strategic thinking
• Build the case for future promotion opportunity whilst managing the pre-construction
function end-to-end
• Represent pre-construction at senior leadership meetings and contribute to board-level
decision making
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience
• Proven experience in pre-construction, estimating, or technical project
management
• Strong track record in office fit-out or commercial interiors (CAT A/B, D&B)
• Proven ability to manage multiple bids and client accounts simultaneously
• Familiarity with JCT contract frameworks and commercial risk management
• Confident leading client meetings, technical reviews, and bid interviews
