Position Title: Aftermarket Sales Representative – Aftermarket Parts (Commercial Vehicles)

Position Summary:
The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for supporting the sale of genuine aftermarket parts that are manufactured for our company. Initially office-based, the role involves technical support, parts identification, order processing, and upselling to distributors. Over time, the successful candidate will transition to a field-based sales role, building and managing distributor relationships across the UK and Ireland while providing occasional holiday cover for the back office team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Sales Support (Training Phase – Office-Based):
* Handle inbound technical sales inquiries by phone and email
* Identify and confirm required vehicle parts using technical data and catalogues
* Process orders accurately in line with company procedures
* Upsell complementary parts and promotions where applicable
* Deliver excellent customer service to distributors
2. Field Sales Development (Post-Training):
* Plan and carry out visits to distributors
* Strengthen customer relationships and provide on-site technical support and training
* Gather market intelligence and identify opportunities for product promotion
* Represent the company at trade events, product demonstrations, and training sessions
3. Administration & CRM:
Maintain accurate records of interactions, sales, and customer preferences
* Collaborate with internal departments to ensure stock availability and accurate product information
* Contribute to continuous improvement of customer service and sales processes
Person Specification:
Education & Experience:
Experience in a technical sales or parts advisory role (preferred)
Knowledge of commercial vehicle components and systems (advantageous)
Key Skills & Attributes:
* Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
* Excellent attention to detail and technical accuracy
* Confident with sales techniques and upselling opportunities
* Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
* Organised and able to prioritise multiple tasks
* Proficient in the use of CRM/order processing systems and Microsoft Office
Other Requirements:
* Full UK driving licence (essential for future field role)
* Willingness to travel and stay overnight occasionally (post-training phase)
* Enthusiasm for learning and career progression within a technical sales environment
Career Path / Development Opportunities:
* The role is designed to evolve from a desk-based technical sales position into a field-based commercial sales role within 12–18 months (subject to performance and business needs).

Salary:
Salary – Between £26K - £30K depending on experience
