Job summary Lead Radiographer / Technologist for CT Component of SPECTCT We are looking for a motivated and experienced Nuclear Medicine Radiographer / Technologist to join our highly skilled multidisciplinary team in a Band 7 role, supporting the delivery and continued development of a safe, efficient and high-quality SPECT/CT service. This post offers the opportunity to play a key role in both specialist SPECT/CT work and wider nuclear medicine activity, helping to maintain rotation, share knowledge and support the smooth running of the department. Working closely with the SPECT/CT service manager, deputy chief and chief technologists, you will help coordinate the day-to-day workload, support service development, contribute to updating standard operating procedures and assist with changes to service delivery where needed. You will also act as a senior role model for colleagues and junior staff, combining strong clinical knowledge with compassionate patient care, calm decision-making and a collaborative approach. This is a varied and rewarding post for someone who wants to help shape an exceptional department, contribute to quality improvement and training, and ensure that patients receive a consistently excellent experience. The role involves working withadult and paediatricpatients, and requires a professional who can bring technical expertise, leadership and emotional intelligence to a busy and evolving service. Main duties of the job The post holder will undertake routine and non-routine SPECT/CT and nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring that imaging is performed efficiently, accurately and to the highest diagnostic standard. Clinical prioritisation decisions remain with the Nuclear Medicine Consultants, but the post holder will have significant personal responsibility for patient care, safe practice and the effective operation of complex equipment. You will support the organisation of the workload across the service, liaise with the radiopharmacy providers to ensure timely supply of radiopharmaceuticals, and act as a point of specialist advice for colleagues, patients and carers. The role also includes high standards of image acquisition and processing, patient preparation and communication, quality assurance, infection control, radiation protection, and the safe handling of radioactive materials and waste.
