HEAD CHEF The Stotfield Hotel is an independent hotel set on the Moray Coastline in Scotland in the friendly town of Lossiemouth. We are seeking a Head Chef (or Head Cook) to join our team and prepare meals for our guests. We’re looking for someone who can work with our core menu (Fish & Chips, Steaks, Curry etc) which is generally ready to finish. We would really like you to show your skills by developing specials that our guests would enjoy to complement our core menu. Generally we expect to feed around 20 – 30 covers for dinner and around 60 covers at breakfast, buffet style. We do occasional functions (generally around 40 – 80 covers), funeral teas etc. We are a small team so everyone works closely together and looks after one another like family. In the kitchen you will work with a part time chef to cover your days off and you also have an experienced kitchen assistant working alongside you. In addition to this our night shift helps with keeping the kitchen clean. We’re looking for someone who has good experience cooking in a commercial kitchen. You might currently be a sous chef in a pub looking to step up to your first heed chef role or you might simply already be at that level and looking for a change of scenery as part of a friendly team, either way we will support you. There is plenty scope for you to grow in this role and we offer good support structure depending upon how you would like to develop in your role. We know that your skills are hands on for food and cooking, so any admin etc is minimal and supported by others in the hotel. In return we offer an hourly rate of £15 per hour, and we encourage you to have a good work life balance so 42 hours per week is our expectation. Generally working 5 days per week, we look for 3 split shift days (Breakfast then Dinner) and 2 straight shift days (Preperation, Cleaning and Dinner).
