About the role
The Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire is a resort hotel in the countryside, just 10 minutes from the town of Fleet and Farnham and 45 minutes from London. With a varied selection of restaurants focusing on use of local produce, banqueting for 200 and with 24-hour room service, our guests have a lovely collection to choose from.
As a Casual Equestrian Assistant, you’ll be an essential part of the yard team, ensuring everything runs smoothly on our busiest day of the week. This is a practical, hands-on role where no two Saturdays are the same. You’ll work closely with instructors, riders, and other staff to create a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone.
What you will do
1. Grooming horses before and after lessons
2. Feeding and watering according to schedules
3. Mucking out stables and maintaining clean bedding
4. Checking horses for signs of injury or illness
5. Cleaning and preparing tack for lessons
6. Ensuring all equipment is safe and ready for use
7. Assisting with tack changes between sessions
8. Helping riders mount and dismount safely
9. Leading horses during beginner lessons
10. Assisting instructors with group sessions and pony rides
11. Sweeping and tidying communal areas
12. Keeping feed rooms and tack rooms organized
13. Reporting any maintenance issues promptly
14. Welcoming riders and parents
15. Answering basic questions about the yard and lessons
16. Providing a friendly, helpful presence throughout the day
What you will bring
17. Must be available every Saturday
18. Previous horse experience preferred (but training provided for the right candidate)
19. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
20. Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
21. Friendly and approachable with good communication skills
