About the Role
We’re seeking a friendly, motivated, and service‑focused Equestrian Assistant to join our team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will support the daily care and management of horses, ensuring the highest standards of welfare, cleanliness, and organisation across the yard. You will contribute to a safe, efficient, and professional equestrian environment while delivering excellent service to clients, riders, and guests.
What You Will Do
1. Assist with the daily care of horses, including feeding, watering, grooming, and mucking out
2. Prepare horses for riding, exercise, or competition, including tacking up and untacking
3. Ensure stables, yards, and equipment are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation
4. Support with turning horses out and bringing them in safely
5. Monitor horse health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns promptly
6. Maintain tack and equipment, ensuring everything is clean, safe, and stored correctly
7. Assist riders, trainers, and clients with professionalism and a positive attitude
8. Help manage stock levels of feed, bedding, and yard supplies
9. Follow all yard health, safety, and biosecurity procedures at all times
10. Contribute to the smooth day‑to‑day running of the yard.
What You’ll Bring
11. Previous equestrian or yard experience is desirable but not essential
12. A genuine passion for horses and animal welfare
13. A hardworking, reliable, and positive attitude
14. Strong teamwork and communication skills
15. Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced outdoor environment
16. High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining excellent standards
17. Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff
18. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
19. Physical stamina for manual tasks such as lifting, mucking out, and handling horses safely.
