Role Overview As an Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will play a vital role in the assembly and integration of complex X-ray scanning systems. Working from engineering drawings, schematics, and standard work instructions, you will build, assemble, and support high-quality products that contribute directly to global security. Key Responsibilities Assemble and integrate complex electro-mechanical X-ray systems, including mechanical fitting, cabling, PCBs, servers, cooling systems, and high-voltage power supplies Build scanner machines in line with engineering drawings, diagrams, and standard work instructions Carry out repair, rework, and fault rectification on mechanical and electrical assemblies Interpret electrical wiring schematics and perform fault finding and corrective action Take responsibility for quality of build across all areas, including documentation, self-checks, and buddy checks Maintain throughput targets and support production schedules Assist in other manufacturing areas as required, including stores and stock control Support prototype builds and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on project work Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, BPD, and CI activities Strictly adhere to safe working practices, health and safety policies, and quality standards Uphold Rapiscan Systems core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork Actively report quality concerns or defects to ensure corrective actions are implemented and recurrence is avoided Essential Skills & Experience: Experience assembling complex electro-mechanical products Strong mechanical and general workshop skills Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical documentation, drawings, and specifications Understanding of electrical and mechanical safety standards Ability to work quickly and accurately with minimal supervision Good problem-solving skills and ability to carry out basic testing Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working on your own initiative Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team GCSE (or equivalent) level Maths and English Desirable: Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, BPD, and Continuous Improvement methodologies Working Hours Monday to Thursday: 08:00 16:00 Friday: 08:00 15:30 Please note: This role may develop into a shift-based position in the future to meet business needs.
