General Sales Manager
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 Basic | £65,000 – £75,000+ OTE
Hours: Monday–Saturday (day off in week) + Sunday rota if required
The Role
We are recruiting for an experienced General Sales Manager to lead the sales team at a busy and successful dealership in Portsmouth.
You will be responsible for driving sales performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction across the dealership while managing and developing a team of Sales Managers and Executives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the sales team (new & used vehicles)
* Drive sales volume, profitability, and KPIs
* Coach, mentor, and develop Sales Managers & Executives
* Monitor stock levels, pricing, and margins
* Ensure F&I performance and compliance
* Deliver a high level of customer satisfaction (CSI)
* Work closely with senior leadership to achieve business objectives
* Build strong relationships with manufacturer partners
Requirements
* Proven experience as a General Sales Manager or Sales Manager
* Strong track record of achieving and exceeding targets
* Excellent leadership and team management skills
* Commercially minded with focus on profitability and growth
* Experience within dealership operations preferred
* Full UK driving licence
