Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to individuals in need, including seniors and those with specific health conditions. This role is essential in supporting the daily living activities of our clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and overall well-being.
Duties
As a Care Worker, your responsibilities will include:
* Providing personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Supporting clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Assisting with meal preparation and ensuring proper nutrition for clients.
* Administering medication as prescribed and monitoring client health conditions.
* Offering companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
* Implementing behaviour management strategies for clients with Alzheimer's or dementia care needs.
* Maintaining a clean and safe environment within the home or care facility.
* Documenting client progress and reporting any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Driving clients to appointments or social activities as required.
Experience
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
* Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospice care settings.
* Knowledge of senior care practices and familiarity with dementia and Alzheimer's care techniques.
* Previous caregiving experience that demonstrates compassion and patience.
* Certification in first aid is preferred but not mandatory.
