We are looking to recruit a permanent, part time Receptionist to work over 4 and 5 days, between 17 to 22 hours, per week (Monday to Friday), to meet the needs of the surgery with shifts between 8am and 7pm. Exact details to be discussed. This role would involve you being responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and theprovision of general support to the multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job
Duties can include but are not limited to, greetingand directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, bookingappointments, processing of information and assisting patients asrequired. To act as the central point ofcontact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiriesfor the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members andexternal agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

Job responsibilities
* Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system i.e. make/cancel/rearrange appointments via the clinical system
* Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
* File patient medical records, results and letters
* Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
* Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
* Signpost patients to the correct service
* Ensure up to date patient information is recorded
* Greeting patients at reception, noting their arrival time
* Observe the waiting room
* Ensure the waiting and reception areas are kept tidy
* Ensure effective communications, regularly updating the Team Leader of any issues
* Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies

* Maintaining the safety of staff, patients and visitors

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above)
* AMSPAR Receptionists Qualification
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
