Role Overview
Looking for an experienced Private Sector Housing Manager to lead and shape the Council's Housing & Renters Rights regulatory and enforcement functions.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee HMO Licensing and Private Sector Housing Enforcement.
* Use the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and relevant legislative powers to drive improvements in the private rented sector.
* Drive service excellence, ensure statutory compliance and deliver outcomes that align with corporate priorities.
* Provide strategic leadership, clear accountability and promote the service proactively to local residents in close collaboration with the Head of Service for Environmental Health and Licensing.
Experience & Qualifications
* Sound knowledge of relevant legislation.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to balance enforcement with community‑focused service delivery.
* Demonstrated experience in private sector housing regulation or related field.
