In-House Legal Counsel (Mid–Senior Level)

We are partnering with a well-established national organisation with a strong community presence to recruit an experienced In-House Legal Counsel to join their team in Essex.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer seeking a broad and impactful in-house role within a purpose-led environment.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice across a diverse range of matters, including:
* Commercial contracts (supplier, services, partnerships, procurement)
* Property matters, including leases, licences and estate management
* Charity law and regulatory compliance
* Governance and trustee support
* Data protection and risk management
* General corporate and operational legal matters
You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, providing clear, solutions-oriented advice that supports operational delivery while managing risk effectively.
About You
* UK qualified Solicitor or Barrister with ideally 5+ years’ PQE
* Strong commercial contracts experience
* Experience advising within the charity or not-for-profit sector highly desirable
* Working knowledge of charity governance and regulatory frameworks
* Property law experience advantageous
* Prior in-house experience desirable but not essential
* Able to communicate complex legal issues clearly to non-legal stakeholders
* Comfortable operating with autonomy in a broad, hands-on role
