Patient Transport Driver - Windsor
This post is based at Windsor Dialysis, 1 Maidenhead Road, Old Ambulance Station, Windsor, SL4 5EY. It attracts a fringe payment of 5% of gross basic salary.
We are looking for a motivated and highly enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Renal Patient Transport Driver (Band 2) in the Windsor Haemodialysis Unit, a 24‑bed satellite unit of the Royal Berkshire Hospital Foundation Trust.
The role involves driving vehicles to transport patients of the Trust’s Haemodialysis Satellite Unit safely to and from their places of residence, following pre‑determined schedules, and organising routes as appropriate to ensure patient safety and efficiency.
Shift structure: Monday to Saturday with no night duty. Shifts are divided into three blocks, starting at 06:00, 10:30, and 12:30, and ending at midnight.
Responsibilities
* Transport patients to and from their homes or residences safely and professionally.
* Follow pre‑determined schedules and organise optimal routes for patient transport.
* Maintain vehicle and driving standards in accordance with the Road Traffic Act and DVLA regulations.
* Ensure patient comfort during all transport duties.
* Participate in Trust induction and mandatory driver training programmes.
Qualifications
* You must have a C1 licence to be considered for interview.
* Previous driving experience around the local area is essential.
* Knowledge of local routes and transport logistics is desirable.
* Commitment to maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
