Priory Hospital Newbury is looking to recruit a Occupational Therapist to join the team. This is a full time/37.5 Hour role.
Priory Hospital Newbury, located Berkshire, is a level 2 rehabilitation service which supports male adults with mental health needs, who are working towards a life back in the community. We also provide an acute service, for local male and female patients who are in crisis and require a short admission for support.
We are well-placed to accept patients who need higher levels of care and intensive therapeutic support, as well as those stepping down in acuity.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients
* Provide person-centred assessments and develop tailored therapy plans to support clients in achieving independence in daily living and work activities.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and carers to deliver holistic, goal-driven interventions.
* Monitor, review, and evaluate treatment progress, adjusting care plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
* Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to reports and care reviews in line with professional standards.
* Promote health, wellbeing, and inclusion through education, advice, and community-based rehabilitation initiatives.

What you'll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will hold a recognised degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC. Previous experience working within mental health services is desirable. Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A compassionate, proactive approach and commitment to continuous professional development are key to success in this role.
