South Hampstead High School is seeking a dynamic and inspirational Teacher of Computer Science to join its thriving department from April 2026.
As a Teacher of Computer Science, you will work with highly motivated and talented pupils from Years 7 to 13, delivering engaging and challenging lessons across all key stages. You will also provide support to pupils in developing their own software projects.
About you
We are looking for a passionate subject specialist with a genuine enthusiasm for technology. You may be an experienced teacher with a proven track record of success or a well-qualified early career teacher or graduate who is ready to begin their teaching journey. A willingness to take a leading role in the ongoing development of a rapidly expanding and forward-thinking department is essential.
The Computer Science Department
The Computer Science department has grown significantly in recent years, offering increased timetabled and co-curricular sessions. The department has access to a dedicated Computer Science Suite designed to support project-based learning and collaboration, alongside a traditional ICT suite. Students have access to Chromebooks and a range of software development tools for app, web and game design, as well as Raspberry Pi workstations, micro:bits and sensor boards.
With opportunities to take part in school, GDST and national technology competitions, and to engage with guest speakers and trips, the department offers a rich, pupil-centred environment that nurtures curiosity, creativity and technical excellence.
