Senior Occupational Therapist Enablement

The Enablement Service is provided by Rotherham Borough Council and aimsto support people to reach their maximum level of independence and meet theirindividual goals.The OTs work with the Enablement Team to carry outa range of activities to ensure that people receiving the Enablement servicehave the best opportunity to achieve their goals. Their roles include triagingreferrals, providing advice and equipment, conducting manual handling assessments,and reviewing enablement support. They also produce enablement plans, workingwith the person themselves and enablers to develop a therapy plan to buildconfidence, strength and/or ability to complete a task as independently aspossible.We have the opportunity for a full time Band 6Occupational Therapists to join the Enablement Occupational Therapy Service.

Qualifications
* OT Degree/Diploma
* Post-graduate qualifications relevant to OT to Masters level or equivalent
* Manual Handling training
* Membership of a Professional body.
* Completed recognised IT course e.g. ECDL/Elite/MOST
knowledge
* Evidence of clinical expertise and knowledge to Post graduate Diploma level developed through CPD and experience
* Demonstrates knowledge of equipment available and ability to assess and fit where applicable
* Knowledge and understanding of national legislation, guidance and regulatory framework including NSF, NICE, Information Governance, Equality and Diversity, Data Protection, Safe Guarding, Professional and Clinical Guidelines
* Knowledge of Clinical Governance and implications for patient care
* Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety in the work environment and implications for service area
* Awareness and understanding of relevant health and Social Care legislation
* Demonstrates an understanding of the supervision process and their responsibilities within this.
* Demonstrates an understanding of team dynamics
* Demonstrates an understanding of diverse cultures
* Demonstrates a clear understanding of the concept of confidentiality
* Knowledge and experience of using standardised assessments and development of relevant outcome measures
* Knowledge and evidence of participation in clinical audit and evidence gathering methods
* Knowledge of continuous improvement through benchmarking and sharing and utilising best practice
