Senior Data Engineer – Core – Multi-Strat Hedge Fund

Role Overview
The team is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help expand and optimise a cloud-native data platform powering trading, research, and operations. They will own the design and delivery of robust data pipelines handling structured, unstructured, and streaming data from both internal and external sources. The role offers broad exposure, technical ownership, and the opportunity to influence firm-wide data architecture.
Key Responsibilities
* Build scalable data pipelines using AWS (Glue, Lambda, EventBridge, Redshift)
* Ingest, normalise, and validate data from vendors (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, exchanges)
* Enhance platform capabilities for historical, real-time, and alternative datasets
* Monitor data quality and ensure platform reliability
* Collaborate with stakeholders across technology, investment, and operations
* Promote engineering best practices and mentor junior developers
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
* 10+ years in data engineering, ideally at a hedge fund or multi-strategy platform
* Deep understanding of capital markets and financial data models
* Expertise in AWS and hands-on experience with Python, SQL/NoSQL
* Strong knowledge of time series data and market data sources
* Familiarity with DevOps tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
* Proven ability to deliver in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
