(Y)Our Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic and interactive Cover Teacher to join our supportive and collaborative team. You will be instrumental in ensuring continuity of high-quality learning when our scheduled class teachers are absent.
We believe that every day is an opportunity to make a difference. As a Cover Teacher, your role is to step into any classroom and instantly foster an engaging and positive learning atmosphere, delivering pre-planned lessons with energy and adapting them interactively to stimulate student interest and excitement.
Are you a creative thinker, resilient, and deeply motivated to make a difference every day to the children you work with? It's not necessarily the length of your experience that we're most interested in; it’s your passion and commitment to our mission: ensuring every child, whatever their background, receives a high-quality education.
The Ideal Cover Teacher will be someone who will:
*Enthusiastically deliver pre-planned lessons across various subjects and key stages, injecting your own energy to keep students motivated and focused.
*Develop exciting and innovative methods within the framework of the provided plans to stimulate interest and excitement in the classroom.
*Manage the classroom proactively and positively, ensuring an inclusive and imaginative learning environment where all students feel supported.
*Confidently use a range of provided resources and technology to make the lesson and the classroom engaging and relevant.
*Be a great communicator who develops positive and respectful relationships quickly with both young children and staff colleagues.
*Provide detailed, constructive feedback and handover notes to the returning teacher, ensuring a seamless continuation of learning.
*Demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm and commitment to working as part of a team, collaborating effectively with support staff and the Cover Manager.
*Be understanding of the educational, welfare, and social needs of the children, and commit to raising the achievement of all students of all abilities.
*Maintain the highest standards of student safety and welfare, following all school policies and safeguarding procedures diligently.
*Be resilient and adaptable to working with different groups and year levels, often at short notice.
*Contribute to the wider life of the school/trust by upholding its values and ethos in every interaction.
This is a fixed term contact until 31/08/2026
We warmly encourage all prospective candidates to visit our school and experience our learning environment first-hand.
