We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to support in one of our dynamic secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) schools in Salford. About the Role
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals to support students aged 11–16 with a range of mental health and behavioural needs such as Autism, ADHD, High Anxiety, Oppositional defiant disorder and Depression. Your role will involve:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
* De-escalating challenging behaviour using trauma-informed and restorative approaches.
* Promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and positive social interactions.
* Assisting with classroom activities and transitions throughout the school day.
* Contributing to behaviour intervention plans and safeguarding protocols.
* Create a safe and nurturing environment which promotes positivity and engagement
Ideal Candidate

* Adaptable with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Committed to inclusive education and safeguarding.
* Experienced in working with children or young people with SEMH needs (school, youth work, residential care, or similar settings).
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* A valid Enhanced DBS for both Child and Adult Workforce, registered on the Update Service.
* Two professional references from the past two years, ideally from education or youth-based settings.
* A genuine interest in supporting vulnerable young people and promoting positive outcomes.
* Valid Documentation confirming Right to Work in the UK
* Safeguarding Training (provided)
