The role
The Senior Procurement Advisor works closely with teams across the organisation to help them navigate the procurement process, offering practical advice and hands‑on support from planning through to contract management. The role focuses on delivering value‑for‑money outcomes, guiding sourcing activities, improving procurement capability, and ensuring everything aligns with government policy and probity requirements.
A big part of the job is balancing strategic advice with day‑to‑day operational needs, while managing complex projects and keeping stakeholders engaged. The role also tackles evolving legislative requirements, procurement risks and governance challenges, and supports the business by mentoring others, monitoring market trends, and helping shape stronger, more consistent procurement practices across the organisation.

What you will bring to the role
* Demonstrated knowledge of NSW Government Procurement policies, directions, and frameworks
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
* Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations.
* Solid time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
* Capable of driving outcomes while effectively involving stakeholders throughout the process, fostering collaboration and buy-in.
What is an essential requirement:
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, equivalent, relevant professional experience.
